Registration Open for High Plains Science Camp


            Children and Nature in our Parks are sponsoring the 2019 High Plains Science Camp, H2OH!  The theme of this year’s camp will be water and gives students an opportunity to get out and experience nature closer to home.  Campers will learn about the global and local water systems, and how the water has shaped our landscape and economy, and how both the wildlife and the people that have adapted to live in our region. Activities will include a tour of an irrigation diversion, Lake Minatare, Nine Mile Creek, other water-related activities, and an overnight stay at Wildcat Hills Nature Center.  

             The camp will be held June 10th – 14th and is for students ages 9 to 12.  The registration fee is $175.  The deadline for registration is May 24th, and scholarships are available for those who apply. 

The camp is also looking for mentors aged 16 and over and interested in outdoors and education.  Must possess leadership skills. Experience working with kids preferable.  Mentors will receive a $400 stipend for the week, and a bonus is available with a favorable review.
