POSTER CONTEST

2007 NRD poster contest winners announced

      The North Platte Natural Resources District announced the winners of its 2007 Conservation Poster Contest. This year's theme, “Protecting Western Water,” generated entries from 36 area youth. Award winners are as follows and pictured to the left:

      Kindergarten – 1st, Braeden Struempler; 2nd Taylor Gier; 3rd Jerry Tarin and Honorable Mention Tyler Green, all of Morrill Elementary.

      1 st – 2 nd Grades – 1st Courtney Knisley; 2nd McKenna Dahlgrin; 3rd Aryeh Scott and Honorable Mention Emily Singleton, all of Banner County Elementary.

      5-6 th Grades – 1st , Alexis Egger; 2nd ,Billy Barron; 3rd Felicity Huggler and Honorable Mention Devon Williamson all of Minatare.

  NPNRD  POSTER CONTEST 

THEME: “Protecting Western Water”

What does western Nebraska water mean to you? Express your ideas about saving water in western Nebraska and protecting this precious resource

for future generations

 

ENTRY DEADLINE: May 4, 2007

 

CONTEST RULES

1. Open to all Elementary students in Banner, Garden, Morrill, Scotts Bluff and sourthern Sioux Counties. Age categories are K-1, 2-3, 4-6 and Adult (Jr. High and High School students may enter in the Adult category).

  2. Any media may be used to create a flat or two-dimensional effect (paint, crayon, colored pencil, charcoal, paper or other materials).

  3. Poster size must be between 8.5" x 11" and 22" x 28".

  4. All posters must have the entrant's full name, age, grade, school, or address and phone number attached to the back of the poster.

  5. All posters must be created by an individual student rather than a team of students.

  6. Although younger students will most likely receive help in planning from parents or teachers, we encourage each student to do as much of the work as possible by him/herself.

  7. First-place winners in each age division will receive a prize and media recognition.

  8. Entries can be mailed in a large manila envelope to

North Platte NRD, Poster Contest, P.O. Box 280 , Scottsbluff , NE 69363-0280

or dropped off at our office at 100547 Airport Road , Scottsbluff.

The posters will be evaluated on the following criteria:

        -- Conservation message

        -- Originality
