An exciting opportunity is available for anyone wanting to get
the most current and professional information on controlling invasive
species such as Russian olive, saltcedar, and phragmites.
The first ever Invasive Species Control
Summit will be held May 6, 7, and 8, 2008 in
Gering, Nebraska.
This three-day event will showcase the most
up-to-date research, information, techniques, chemicals, and equipment
available for controlling species that degrade land and watersheds.
Speakers will include researchers
from Cornell University, the Tamarisk Coalition, the National
Invasive Species Council, and representatives from nationally
known chemical and equipment companies.
Tours will be
offered for those wanting to see results first hand of the acclaimed
Nine Mile Creek Restoration Project northeast of Scottsbluff,
and the progressive Wyoming Invasive Species control projects
on the North Platte River near Torrington, Wyo. and Henry, Neb.
