June 2006 -- Seasonal work continues as Water Technician Michelle Long and Watershed Coordinator Dennis Beyer monitor water quality on Nine Mile Creek.

 

 

 

 

 

 

June 2006 -- Classes don't close for the summer. Information and Education Coordinator Kay Grote explains the water cycle and gives water saving tips to students at Migrant School in Gering.

 

 

 

 

 

May 2006 -- Past director and board chairman Jim Olson (left) of Oshkosh is honored for his 20 years of service to the NPNRD. Presenting the award is manager Ron Cacek.

 

 

 

 

April 2006 -- Water Wonders. Chris Jutting and Carl Roland of the NPNRD explain to students the recharge cycle of groundwater during the annual festival held in Mitchell.

 

 

 

 

 

 

April 2006 -- Water Wonders. NPNRD Water Technician Carolyn Hudson introduces curious fifth graders to the many species of invetebrates that live in area streams.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

April 2006 -- Tree Season Arrives. The NPNRD crew is still all smiles after unloading 5,000 nursery trees. Planting will begin soon.

 

 

 

 

 

March 2006 -- A Winning Team. Members of the Bayard FFA Sales & Service Team, Shaylee Jobman, Candace Ross, Madi Coon and Samantha Jobman, helped unload nursery trees at the NRD shop as part of their presentation research. The girls placed third at the State FFA Judging Contest in Lincoln. Congratulations!

 

 

 

January 2006 -- NPNRD directors Arden Wohlers and Jerry Dillman and NPNRD General Manager Ron Cacek visit with 48th District Sen. Adrian Smith about water issues at the annual NARD Legislative Conference in Lincoln.

 

 

 

January 2006 -- Information & Education Coordinator Kay Grote and Resources Coordinator Roy Lyles greet the pubic at the annual Bean Day and give away free trees.

 

 

 

December 2005 -- NPNRD Soils Technician Craig Uhrig and Water Resources Coordinator Carl Roland get hands-on training using the latest GPS technology

 

 

 

 

 

October 2005 -- Branch Out. The NPNRD "Tree Guy" Roy Lyles shows Gering students the importance of the earth's top soil and how to protect it by planting trees.

 

 

 

 

September 2005 -- World Water Monitoring Day. Watershed Coordinator Dennis Beyer introduces Morrill Jr. High School science students to the world of invertebrates.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

September 2005 -- Nine Mile Creek High School tours. NPNRD staff guided Scottsbluff High School biology students through hands-on demonstrations in the stream.
